Data acquisition: Cotopaxi Ground Station, Ecuador. The Station operated by CLIRSEN is located 65 km South of Quito, the Ecuadorian Capital, at 3,567 m altitude. It ensures the coverage of 25 Central and South American countries. It participated to ESA's ERS Tandem operations in the periods Nov.98/Feb.99 and Dec.99/Feb.2000.
Upper right: Managua and its lake (Lake Xolotlan).
Above Managua, volcanic formations.
In the lake (one of the most polluted in the world):
the island of Momotombito.
