  Gibraltar (Spain) - This SAR multitemporal image of Strait  of Gibraltar is generated from three separate acquisitions using the European Space Agency's environmental radar satellite ERS-2. Through the Strait, a continuous current enters the Mediterranean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean, generated the different colours of the sea associated by different wind conditions during the acquisitions.
Upper right corner: To the left,Algeciras, a port and industrial centre in the Bay of Gibraltar. To the right: on top, La Linea de la Concepción, in the neutral zone that separates Spain from the British dependency of Gibraltar; below it, the free port of Gibraltar. Throughout, in the ocean: intense ship traffic and plenty of oil slicks. Bottom part of the image: Northwestern Morocco with the town of Tangier (Cap Spartel headland) facing the Strait, with on bottom to the left the airport.

   Gibilterra (Spagna) - Questa ERS-2 SAR immagine multitemporale sullo Stretto di Gibilterra é stata generata utilizzando tre diverse date di acquisizione di utilizzo dell'Agenzia Spaziale Europea (ESA). Attraverso lo stretto il continuo entrare delle correnti dall'Oceano Atlantico nel Mar Mediterraneo,
genera il differente colore del mare, associato inoltre alle differenti condizione di vento durante le acquisizioni delle scene. In alto a destra,si deve Algeciras, porto e centro industriale nella Baia di Gibilterra. Alla estrema destra dell'immagine, la Linea de la Concepcion, nella fascia neutrale che separa la Spagna
dalla colonia britannica di Gibilterra, sotto infine il porto franco di Gibilterra.Fuori dallo stretto, in Oceano Atlantico, un intenso traffico di navi con abbondanti scie di petrolio. Nella parte in basso dell'immagine, nel nord-ovest del Marocco la cittá di Tangeri (promontorio di Cap Spartel) che si affaccia direttamente sullo stretto, con in basso a sinistra l'aeroporto.
